Double Knee Surgery.....Yuck!
Hi everyone! Well, 3 weeks ago I underwent yet another double knee surgery....yes, that is, I have had double knee surgery twice now and I am only 22! And some how even after having surgery again, I absolutely love dance! Yes, I have given it up, finally. The first time I was forced to give it up as I had surgery and the surgeon flat out told me that I would be back in his office if I didn't quit dance, however after not dancing for two years I couldn't take it anymore and so I started doing Ballroom at BYU, where I met my absolute best friend, Janae. I quickly decided that I wanted to get into competitions and to get ready for those competitions I began dancing 9 hours a day. You can imagine what that did to my already damged knees. I always said that once I got married I would freely give up ballroom dance, I didn't want to torcher my pour husband by making him watch me dance with another man. However, my grandfather got deathly ill in January last year, before I met my husband, and with having to travel down to Colorado so much, I simply couldn't be on the team and commit that much time to dance, so at that point I quit team and focused my attention on family. Shortly after that, I met my husband and so therefore never picked ballroom back up. After only a year of hard core dancing my knees were once again blown out and ruined. The doctor said that my best option was to go ahead with surgery. The only problem was, we were in the middle of moving and getting ready to leave for Mesa. And on top of that we were switching insurance groups so if I was going to have surgery I had to have it in the next few days from that doctors appointment. The surgeon was absolutely amazing, and worked me in to his already booked schedule. The major down side to this was Austin still had to go ahead and leave for Mesa to start his new job. So I have been stuck up here in Utah trying to recover as quickly as possible so I can go down and join my husband in Mesa. My parents have been extremely generous in letting me take over their house while I'm here. I am learning how to walk all over again, and slowly improving each day. I go to the doctors tomorrow to get the approval to drive down to AZ. Austin will be flying in tomorrow evening and then Saturday morning we'll pack up and take off. He will be driving my car down with me since I can't exactly drive yet. I will have to continue physical therapy down in mesa for a few months. In the mean time, anyone know of any good movies to watch?
